Ahead of the opening of her exhibition, THE LAST ONES AWAKE, director Eli Eskin sat down with artist Rebecca Brodskis for an intimate short documentary exploring the world behind her latest body of work. Eskin describes Brodskis as an artist with a distinct visual language—someone whose unique perspective on life, coupled with exceptional sensitivity, is evident in all her creations.

For THE LAST ONES AWAKE, Brodskis turns her attention to those who became her chosen family in Berlin. The exhibition's portraits depict close friends whose presence shaped her time in the city. They trace a community bound less by circumstance than by shared vulnerability, ambition, and care.

The short film offers a glimpse into the process and relationships behind the paintings—a companion piece to an exhibition that, at its core, is about intimacy, presence, and the people who make a place feel like home.
