The Shape of Absence...
with Rachel Sharma

In the series FROM OUR WALLS, members of the team talk about works in the gallery that resonate with them personally. Today, Rachel Sharma, Director at KÖNIG GALERIE, introduces THE MUSIC HALL (THE WOUND) by Arghavan Khosravi, a work that reflects the artist’s poetic exploration of memory, displacement, and systems of power.

Known for her symbolic visual language, Khosravi creates layered compositions that invite close looking. The work features carved-out elements revealing recurring motifs, including a pomegranate symbolising life and renewal, an hourglass marking the passage of time, and a darkened hand recalling oil and political power. Together, these symbols open up questions of power, visibility, and identity without offering fixed interpretations. Come visit to experience THE SHAPE OF ABSENCE, on view until 30 August 2026 at KÖNIG GALERIE in St. Agnes.
