ANSELM REYLE
Studio Visit

For more than 20 years, the German painter and conceptual artist Anselm Reyle has lived and worked in Berlin. After studying in Karlsruhe, he started a studio cooperation in Kreuzberg together with other artists.In 2008 he decided to have his own studio and bought a plot of land in Treptow with a direct view of the Spree River, previously used by the water police. Together with his wife and architect Tanja Linke, he designed his new creative space. A few years ago, the two then decided to turn Reyle´s workspace into their shared residence as well and added a residential building to the studio.

ANSELM REYLE

Anselm Reyle (b. 1970 in Tübingen, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. Since 2009 the artist has held a position as a professor of Painting/Drawing at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

Anselm Reyle’s best-known works include his foil and stripe paintings as well as his sculptures.
