XENIA HAUSNER
TURN OF TIME

TRAIN STATION BAD ISCHL, BAD ISCHL, AUSTRIA
PERMANENT INSTALLATION SINCE 2026

In TURN OF TIME, Xenia Hausner provides an unmistakable artistic response to the pressing crises of our present. With her mouth open in a silent scream, a female figure balances a luminous clock on her head, like a globe—the hands frozen at five to twelve. Time is running out.The sculpture condenses a moment of extreme tension—between alarm and awakening, between despair and the persistent urge for change. It reminds us of what is at stake: dwindling resources, a climate out of control, the erosion of democratic values and the dignity of human life. By transforming the female body into a vessel of warning and admonition, Hausner gives form to the collective unease of a world in upheaval. While old certainties crumble, Zeitenwende rises as a call—a visual alarm signal that demands renewal and responsibility and urges change before our time has elapsed.

Mayor and Head of Cultural Affairs Ines Schiller: "Art in public spaces creates encounters, encourages reflection and connects people. The sculpture Zeitenwende gives our town a strong and contemporary symbol that will have an impact far beyond the station forecourt."
