RASMUS ECKHARDT

Sounds

For this edition of Studio Sounds, artist Rasmus Eckhardt shares the music that moves quietly through his studio as he works. His selection drifts between melancholic intimacy and nocturnal warmth—songs that pulse with longing, atmosphere, and the soft ache of reflection.

Much like the works in his exhibition NACHTSCHWÄRMEN, Eckhardt’s playlist traces the emotional terrain of wandering through a city at night: moments of closeness and distance, encounters held in half-light, memories that blur at the edges. The tracks echo the cinematic stillness of his paintings—where figures linger in suspended time, and where Berlin becomes both stage and confidant.

Listening to these songs is like stepping into the afterglow of one of his images, where tenderness and unease coexist, and where the rhythm of the night hums quietly beneath every surface.
