For this new edition of Studio Sounds, Bijanka Bacic shares a playlist that moves with the same persistence as her marks on canvas. Spanning psychedelic drift, proto-punk, folk, Latin rhythms, and hypnotic rock, the selection unfolds as a sequence of moods rather than a fixed narrative—songs that wander, loop back, and subtly shift direction.
Listening alongside Bacic’s practice, the music mirrors her process of translation and transformation. Tracks stretch between structure and looseness, repetition and deviation, echoing the way her works evolve from photographic origins into gouache studies and finally into layered paintings animated by stripes, lines, and interruptions. There is a sense of forward motion throughout the playlist—rhythmic, restless, occasionally raw—yet never rushed.
