One Minute Forever

Erwin Wurm is one of the most successful artists of his generation and is internationally known for his extraordinary interpretation of the concept of sculpture. His works combine performance, video, drawing, and photography. For Wurm, everything can become sculpture: Actions, written or drawn instructions, even thoughts. The exhibition One Minute Forever looks back at Wurm's work from 1996 to the present and presents works shown for the first time. Conceived more as an introspective than a retrospective, the catalog turns to the interweaving of past and present. From this emerges a comprehensive retrospective of Wurm's iconic performative sculptures, working towards a redefinition and expansion of the concept of sculpture into a participatory and playful medium that challenges the way we look at the world.
