With the spectacular spatial installation LOST WORDS - curated by Frizzi Krella and Christhard-Georg Neubert - the internationally renowned artist Chiharu Shiota (*1972) transformed the interior of Berlin's Nikolaikirche into a whole new associative and thought space. A dense web of black threads, into which Bible pages of different times, translations and languages are woven, stands as a symbol for the global interconnectedness of the Reformation and the biblical message. In her installations, Shiota often uses found objects, such as shoes, windows or suitcases. A trademark has developed into webs of woolen threads, which the artist weaves into exhibition spaces. The publication provides insights into the artist's work through numerous photographs and accompanying texts.
