GPS

In GPS, Clédia Fourniau drew inspiration from Victor Hugo’s inkblots, in which he used drips, chance and imprints to create landscapes and abstract forms. Here, the mark produces a pseudo landscape that the artist has artificially delineated and mapped. She also found it interesting to refer to a very concrete technological object to designate an object such as a painting. For Fourniau, it is a metaphor and a questioning of our disorientation, of our loss of direction or meaning, but approached through a playful, experimental and exhilarating impulse.
