Creative high etc.

This painting is titled Creative High Etc. because Clédia Fourniau wanted to express the powerful energy and vital force that inhabit her when she works and is focused. But through the “etc.” she wanted to speak, in an ironic way, about the discrepancy and tension that exist within the very notion of creation. This kind of humour suggests that nothing can be taken for granted, not even this flow, which is difficult to explain and preserve. The artist must always struggle with everything that makes up everyday life and find her way through heterogeneity, redundancy, unpredictability, waste, slowness and incoherence.

This painting, and the group as a whole, is above all a reflection on creation itself and on the possibility of painting. Is creation a moment of self effacement and disappearance, or one of total control?
