VASSIVIÈRE ISLAND, FRANCE
APRIL 2008 – JULY 2012

“If you are curious, you expand your ideas into different areas. You meet writers, architects, and designers. You are forced to learn how to speak to young skaters." – Koo Jeong A
OTRO is the first in a series of fully functioning glow-in-the-dark skateparks created by Koo Jeong A. The 2,300-square-foot (212-square-meters) concrete sculpture, produced in collaboration with Belgian architectural firm L’escaut, is composed of a set of bowls connected by a tunnel and a cradle. A man-made dreamscape amid the natural surroundings, the artwork is intended to be used, to offer an extraordinary sensorial experience to skaters and spectators alike.
