GROUP EXHIBITION OF THE 2024 REIFFERS ART INITIATIVES PRIZE WITH CLÉDIA FOURNIAU
(RE)GENERATION

ACACIAS ART CENTER, PARIS, FRANCE
26 APRIL – 8 JUNE 2024

Every spring, Reiffers Art Initiatives awards a prize to an emerging French artist, or one with a special connection to France, whose works invite us to look at the world differently, in its complexity and diversity.

Clédia Fourniau focuses on deconstructing the very material of their creations: she works on the depth of her painting, showing all the successive layers of works that unravel and reconstruct with each reflection, with the observer playing a central role.

Despite having very different practices, all of them invoke fiction, romance, or the invention of alternative rituals, generating new forms and narratives with reparative power.

“The exhibition (Re)generation brings together the works of five artists selected by the artistic committee of Reiffers Art Initiatives, all hailing from the French and international contemporary art scene. Majd Abdel Hamid, Alex Ayed, Clédia Fourniau, Garance Früh, and Aïcha Snoussi are all of the same generation, born between the late 1980s and early 1990s, but what binds them goes much deeper. Their way of relaying the world, the freedom in their narratives and forms, and the imaginary elsewhere each of these artists evokes, propose a form of regeneration of perspective, history, and practice.” – Vittoria Matarrese, Curator of the exhibition
