With a gesture of subversive humor Thick Air presents a recent body of work by Hungarian-born artist Eva Beresin that is a radical and intimate exploration of her life. The paintings can be seen as the culmination of a decade in which Beresin's art has gained both speed and inventiveness. Beresin paints the carnivalesque with a genuine interest in the intricacies of the soul. In grotesquely restless and playfully bold forms, the compositions capture her personal history as well as general human themes.
