To celebrate the occasion of Norbert Bisky’s solo exhibition in the Chapel at KÖNIG GALERIE, the artist has designed an NFT that will be given away free to all those who view the unique work, TAUMEL, 2022, during the run time of the show. This form of NFT is called a POAP, which stands for “Proof-Of-Attendance-Protocol”.
The claiming of this POAP will only be possible until 16 October, after which it will be no longer available to claim for free on the primary market. Owning one of these tokens will enable you, among other things, to benefit from exclusive access to future NFT works of Bisky. This POAP is digital memorabilia of the visitors’ viewing of the exhibition based on the massive painting that Bisky created especially for this show, TAUMEL, which opens during the 2022 edition of Berlin Art Week.
The original painting measures nearly seven by seven meters and completely fills the ceiling of the former chapel. Only once gazes are turned upward does the full force of what is pouring down on viewers reveal itself: it's raining people. Alluding to earlier traditions of European Baroque church decoration, the painting effectively erases the ceiling of the room by opening a view onto an imagined sky.
