The publication shows individual photographs as well as series of Annette Kelm's cool but clear-looking photographs, whose motifs are often fed by the simple things of modern everyday culture, but also architecture and landscape shots to portraits. The photographs are part of the pictorial tradition of Western art production, but also critically question and reveal our perception and reception of this very image and visual culture. Using the simplest of means, Kelm demonstrates the construction of such images and leaves the viewer with the possibility of deciphering and deconstructing them.
