KÖNIG GALERIE is delighted to announce that Monira Al Qadiri is joining our gallery.

The Kuwaiti artist Monira Al Qadiri was born in 1983. She received a PhD in Inter-media Art from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010, with a dissertation on the aesthetics of sadness in the Middle East. Her research draws on poetry, music, art, and religious practices, exploring themes related to unconventional gender identities, petro-cultures and their possible futures, as well as the legacies of corruption.
