Over the past five decades, U.S. artist Barbara Kasten has created an impressive body of multimedia work centered on her fascinating photographs. Barbara Kasten's art is in some of the world's most important museums (including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Tate Modern, London, Centre Pompidou, Paris). The bilingual publication Barbara Kasten. Works (German/English), produced in close collaboration with the artist, presents a comprehensive look at her oeuvre on more than 250 pages with many large-format illustrations - from early sculptures and photograms to the often colorful, concrete photographs and the latest installation video works. The accompanying essays by Carol S. Eliel, Elena Engelbrechter, Anette Hüsch, Alex Klein, and Magdalena Kröner, as well as Andreas Beitin's extensive interview with the artist, offer an in-depth look at Barbara Kasten's multifaceted oeuvre.
